Basketball Recap: Rockwood Victorious

After losing to Claysburg-Kimmel the last time they met, Rockwood decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Rockwood Rockets secured a 33-29 W over the Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs on Thursday. The Rockets didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

Claysburg-Kimmel's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bailey Tipton, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zailee Bush, who had eight points.

Rockwood's victory bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

Rockwood and Claysburg-Kimmel could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. Rockwood will square off against Windber at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 354 places (686 vs. 332). Similarly, Claysburg-Kimmel (ranked 555th) will meet Southern Huntingdon County (ranked 180th) at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
