Recap: Ligonier Valley Rams vs. Waynesburg Central Raiders
The Ligonier Valley Rams lost against the Waynesburg Central Raiders back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Ligonier Valley was the victim of a rough 50-29 defeat at the hands of Waynesburg Central.
Despite the defeat, Ligonier Valley saw an underclassman step up: Marlee Miller scored 13 points along with 3 steals.
Leading Waynesburg Central to victory were Kaley Rohanna and Peyton Cowell. Rohanna scored 18 points along with 3 steals, while Cowell dropped a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds. Avery Davis was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 6 rebounds.
Ligonier Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Waynesburg Central, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ligonier Valley will square off against Marion Center at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Waynesburg Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Carmichaels at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
