Preview: Minot Magicians vs. Sheyenne Mustangs
Minot has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against The Sheyenne Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Dakota (Minot is ranked fourth, while Sheyenne is ranked fifth).
Last Friday, Minot was able to grind out a solid victory over Mandan, taking the game 23-14.
Meanwhile, Sheyenne put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Century 41-21. The win made it back-to-back wins for Sheyenne.
Minot's victory was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-8 Legacy and 2-8 West Fargo (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 29.6% over those games). As for Sheyenne, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
Minot came up short against Sheyenne in their previous matchup back in September, falling 28-20. Can Minot avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
