Baseball Game Preview: Canisius Crusaders vs. Niagara Falls Wolverines

The Canisius Crusaders are taking a road trip to square off against the Niagara Falls Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Monday, Canisius came up short against McQuaid Jesuit and fell 9-4. The Crusaders have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Canisius got a good showing from Nick Elia, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Elia a new career-low in walks (zero).

At the plate, Canisius saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Barczak, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Meanwhile, Niagara Falls had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Marauders.

Niagara Falls' victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Canisius, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.

Canisius couldn't quite finish off Niagara Falls in their previous meeting back in March of 2019 and fell 2-0. Can the Crusaders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
