Basketball Recap: Conestoga Christian Takes a Loss

If Conestoga Christian was feeling good fresh off their 51-2 takedown of Alliance Christian last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Conestoga Christian Cougars were beaten by the Veritas Academy Monarch 57-25 on Friday. The Cougars have struggled against the Monarch recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Conestoga Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Veritas Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Conestoga Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Coventry Christian at 4:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Veritas Academy also won't see the court for a while: their next matchup is against Greenwood at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Greenwood has won four straight at home, while Veritas Academy won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
