Football Recap: Churchill Beats Walter Johnson for Their Third Straight Win + How To Watch

Churchill extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 3-0. They put the hurt on the Walter Johnson Wildcats with a sharp 28-6 win. 28 seems to be a good number for the Bulldogs as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Churchill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noah Zhang, who rushed for 161 yards and one score while picking up 8.9 yards per carry, and also picked up 38 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 161 rushing yards gave Zhang a new career-high. Another passer making a difference was Hunter Humphries, who threw for 112 yards and a pair of TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Churchill was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 225 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Walter Johnson only rushed for 109 rushing yards.

As for Walter Johnson, they now have a losing record of 1-2. They have struggled against Churchill recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Walter Johnson lost, don't look at Jake Forburger. Despite the final result, he rushed for 86 yards on only nine carries.

Looking ahead, Churchill will take on Whitman at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Walter Johnson, they will face off against Wootton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
