Soccer Game Preview: Lanier vs. Berkmar

Lanier hasn't had much luck against Berkmar recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Longhorns will look to defend their home pitch against the Patriots at 7:30 p.m.

Lanier is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Mountain View last Thursday. The Longhorns fell just short of the Bears by a score of 3-2.

Denir Fazlic and Michael Zapata scored both of Lanier's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Berkmar). They never let North Gwinnett get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory last Thursday. The score was close at halftime, but Berkmar pulled away in the second half with three goals.

With the win, Berkmar broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-8. As for Lanier, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9-1.
