Baseball Game Preview: Effingham County Rebels vs. Greenbrier Wolfpack

Effingham County is 0-4 against Greenbrier since March of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Effingham County Rebels will look to defend their home field against the Greenbrier Wolfpack at 5:00 p.m. The last three games Effingham County has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Effingham County took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out South Effingham 4-3.

Wes Ward tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed over his last four contests.

On the hitting side, Ryan Wells was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted over his last 13 matches.

Meanwhile, Greenbrier came up short against Morgan County on Friday and fell 6-2. The Wolfpack have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Greenbrier's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Effingham County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.

Effingham County might still be hurting after the 14-1 defeat they got from Greenbrier in their previous matchup back in February of 2020. Can Effingham County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
