Football Recap: Whiteland Warriors vs. Columbus North Bull Dogs
Whiteland kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 49-7 defeat at the hands of the Columbus North Bull Dogs. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.
Asher Ratliff was a one-man wrecking crew For Columbus North. as he threw for 280 yards and three touchdowns while completing 82.1% of his passes, and also rushed for 37 yards and one TD. Those 280 passing yards gave Ratliff a new career-high. A healthy portion of Ratliff's aerial production (109 yards to be exact) went to Parker Elmore, who also brought in three receiving touchdowns.
Looking ahead, Whiteland will be playing at home against Floyd Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Columbus North, they will venture away from home to take on Columbus East at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
