Softball Recap: Auburn Gets the Win

Auburn proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 13) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Freeman Falcons 5-3. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won three in a row.

Auburn secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Bree Wehenkel, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Wehenkel is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last nine games she's played. Morgan Stanley also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Auburn's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Freeman, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-9.

Auburn has already played their next matchup, a 5-3 loss against Cameron on the 13th. As for Freeman, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-0 win against Wilber-Clatonia on the 13th.
