Football Game Preview: Wilson Mules vs. Eagle Rock Eagles

Wilson is 1-8 against Eagle Rock since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Mules will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Wilson has given up an average of 27 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, Wilson came up short against Lincoln and fell 33-24.

Meanwhile, Eagle Rock had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.8 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They strolled past the Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 42-28. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Panthers on their field since October 19, 2018.

Eagle Rock's win came from a few key players Wilson will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Liam Pasten, who threw for 290 yards and four TDs while picking up 12.6 yards per attempt. Melion Busano helped Pasten out on the ground, rushing for 92 yards and one score, while also catching one touchdown.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Eagle Rock, racking up 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Busano, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Wilson's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Eagle Rock, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
