Soccer Game Preview: Rutland vs. Crawford County

The Rutland Hurricanes will challenge the Crawford County Eagles at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Rutland beats Crawford County with one goal on Saturday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Rutland who was credited with the victory on Thursday. Rutland got it done in the shootout by posting two goals to Central's one. Crawford County will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Chattahoochee County on Friday. Crawford County narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Chattahoochee County 4-3. Considering the Eagles' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Crawford County's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-1. As for Rutland, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Rutland took their victory against Crawford County in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0. Will Rutland repeat their success, or does Crawford County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
