Baseball Game Preview: Aurora East Tomcats vs. Larkin Royals

Aurora East is 1-9 against Larkin since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Tomcats will venture away from home to face off against the Royals at 4:30 p.m. Aurora East has given up an average of 14.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Aurora East's last matchup with Fenton could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Thursday. The Tomcats lost 15-1 to the Bison. The defeat was just more heartbreak for the Tomcats who fell 4-2 when the teams previously met back in April of 2024.

Aurora East saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonathan Velasquez, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. That RBI was Velasquez's first of the season.

Glenbard South hit Larkin with a five-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Royals came up short against the Raiders, falling 11-3.

Aden Mora was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Antonio Ventura was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Larkin's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Aurora East, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-20.

Aurora East suffered a grim 15-1 defeat to Larkin when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Tomcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
