Basketball Recap: Oley Valley Comes Up Short

If Oley Valley was riding high fresh off their 64-22 takedown of Tulpehocken on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lynx came up short against the Pottsgrove Falcons on Tuesday, falling 55-35. The Lynx were down 51-25 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

When it comes to explaining why Oley Valley lost, don't look at Makenzie Myers. Despite the final result, she posted four points in addition to seven boards and three blocks.

Pottsgrove's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Vivan Kyler, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and three steals. Kyler has become a key player for the Falcons: the team is 5-2 when she posts at least ten boards, but 5-10 otherwise. Thelia Dellaquila was another key player, dropping a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds.

Oley Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Pottsgrove, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-12.

As of now, neither Oley Valley nor the Falcons have any future games scheduled.
