Bishop McCort picks up sixth straight win at home

Recap: Bishop McCort Crushers vs. Chestnut Ridge Lions

The Bishop McCort Crushers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Chestnut Ridge by a score of 52-44. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Bishop McCort has scored all year.

Leading Bishop McCort to victory were Cami Beppler and Gianna Gallucci. Beppler scored 17 points along with two steals, while Gallucci scored 21 points along with four steals. Gallucci is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Elle Berkebile was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 12 assists and four steals.

Chestnut Ridge lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Isabella Hillegass, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hillegass has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlie Weaver, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Bishop McCort's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-0. As for Chestnut Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Bishop McCort will head out on the road to challenge Bedford at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Bedford will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 415th, while Bishop McCort is ranked 14th). As for Chestnut Ridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central Cambria at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Central Cambria knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Chestnut Ridge likes a good challenge.
