Softball Recap: Nease Sets Scoring Season-High Against St. Augustine

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nease). They put the hurt on the St. Augustine Yellow Jackets with a sharp 14-1 victory on Tuesday. The Panthers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1, 2024.

Miranda Harmon was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Another player making a difference was Casey Eliason, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.

Nease was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Nease's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-7. As for St. Augustine, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Nease and St. Augustine could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Nease will square off against Beachside at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday down 147 places (223 vs. 76). Meanwhile, St. Augustine (ranked 451st) will meet Tocoi Creek (ranked 157th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
