Murphy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Franklin Panthers by a score of 29-16 on Friday. Surprisingly, this marked the Bulldogs' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Murphy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cameron Clem, who rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns. Brody McFaddin was in the mix too, providing the Bulldogs with two TDs.

Murphy didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Franklin to a completion percentage of just 25%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Ryan Payne and Aayden Williams, who each logged two passes deflected. Murphy hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.33 or higher in four consecutive games dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Murphy will take on Heard County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Franklin, they will challenge Robbinsville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
