Football Recap: Mooresville Pioneers vs. Perry Meridian Falcons

Mooresville lost to Perry Meridian back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Pioneers blew past the Falcons 42-21. Considering the Pioneers have won three games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mooresville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Journey Thompson, who picked up 283 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Thompson really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 78 yards. Another passer making a difference was Connor Cruz, who threw for 225 yards and four TDs on only 18 passes.

Mooresville's defense stepped up as well, laying out Jackson Schoch seven times. The heavy lifting was done by Landyn Powell and Jonathan Tyner, who racked up five sacks between them.
