Basketball Recap: Nine Straight Home Wins for Silver Valley

Silver Valley had won eight straight home games dating back to last season and Naomi Durrah did her part to make it nine on Wednesday. The Silver Valley Trojans were the clear victor by a 53-32 margin over the Academy for Academic Excellence Knights thanks in part to Durrah, who went 16 for 37 on her way to 33 points in addition to seven steals and five boards. That makes it 15 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Silver Valley's points.

Lyric White was another key player, putting up eight points along with nine rebounds and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last nine games she's played.

Silver Valley's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Academy for Academic Excellence, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-9 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Silver Valley will host Big Bear at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Silver Valley is facing Big Bear at the right time seeing as Big Bear is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Academy for Academic Excellence, they will be playing at home against Riverside Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
