Baseball Game Preview: Carlisle Bison vs. Gettysburg Warriors

The Carlisle Bison will square off against the Gettysburg Warriors at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Carlisle is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Northern York just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Polar Bears by a score of 3-2. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Bradyn Sober was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Carlisle is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-5 otherwise. Sober was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases.

In other batting news, Ryan Black made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases and one RBI.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Gettysburg and West York Area, and Gettysburg kept the tradition alive. The Warriors walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Bulldogs on Friday.

Carlisle's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Gettysburg, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
