After a string of four wins, Northwest Whitfield's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the LaFayette Ramblers. The Bruins were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Ramblers earlier this season, when they won 6-0.

Northwest Whitfield's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-6. As for LaFayette, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Coming up, Northwest Whitfield is taking a road trip to square off against Cleveland at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Northwest Whitfield's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Cleveland's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for LaFayette, they will host Calhoun at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Calhoun will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something LaFayette surely won't give up without a fight.
