Football Game Preview: Thomas More Prep-Marian Monarchs vs. Smith Center Redmen

Thomas More Prep-Marian hasn't had much luck against Smith Center recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Monarchs are taking a road trip to square off against the Redmen. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Thomas More Prep-Marian proved they can win big on September 12th (they won by 49) and two weeks ago they proved they can win the close ones too. They slipped by Phillipsburg 20-19. The Monarchs haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Smith Center). They strolled past Plainville with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 34-16. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Redmen with their most commanding win of the season.

Smith Center's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Thomas More Prep-Marian, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Thomas More Prep-Marian came up short against Smith Center when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 20-14. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Redmen's Gannon McCoy, who rushed for 127 yards and one score.
