Baseball Recap: Wheeler Comes Up Short

Wheeler extended their losing streak to six on Saturday, dropping them down to 4-20. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Osborne Cardinals. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cardinals earlier this season, when they won 12-2.

As for Osborne, with the victory, they broke their eight-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-19. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since February 13th.

For Osborne's part, the team relied heavily on Bryant Edge, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Edge has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was V Mendez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wheeler will face off against South Cobb at 5:55 p.m. on Monday. As for Osborne, they will challenge Campbell at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
