Football Game Preview: Legacy Academy Silverbacks vs. Raton Tigers

For the first time this season, Legacy Academy will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They are taking a road trip to take on the Raton Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Raton took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Legacy Academy, who comes in off a win.

Legacy Academy played against McCurdy last Saturday and won via forfeit.

Raton's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against St. Michael's on Saturday. They took a blow against the Horsemen, falling 54-0. The Tigers have struggled against the Horsemen recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

The victory (which was Legacy Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.7 points on average over those games. As for Raton, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Legacy Academy against Raton in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 34-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Silverbacks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
