Recap: Lanesville Eagles vs. New Washington Mustangs
The Lanesville Eagles put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat New Washington 67-26 on the road. The result was nothing new for Lanesville, who have now won six matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.
Lanesville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hadley Crosier led the charge by scoring 20 points along with seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Kerr, who scored 11 points along with five assists and five steals.
Lanesville pushed their record up to 13-0 with that win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30 points. As for New Washington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lanesville will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Floyd Central at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024. As for New Washington, they will head out on the road to face off against Switzerland County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
