Football Recap: Calhoun Comes Up Short

Calhoun lost against Sinton back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sandcrabs took a 41-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates.

Despite the loss, Calhoun still got an impressive performance from Ashton Sternadel, who threw for 125 yards and three touchdowns on only eight passes, and also rushed for 50 yards.

Mykha Green had an outrageously good game for Sinton as he rushed for 268 yards and three scores while picking up 16.8 yards per carry. Green really tore up the turf during one magnificent 72-yard run. Another player making a difference was Quincy Bess, who threw for 153 yards and one TD on only 12 passes.

Calhoun's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Sinton, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Calhoun will take on St. John's at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sinton, they will face off against Alice at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
