Softball Recap: Scotland County Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Scotland County's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the Milan Wildcats by a score of 7-2. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 17-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Keeley Brown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Allie Elenbaas was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Myah Holt, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Scotland County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Scotland County's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6. As for Milan, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coming up, Scotland County will challenge Canton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Milan, they will take on Linn County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
