Basketball Recap: American Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

American extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Shirina Shi. The American Eagles took down the Irvington Vikings 44-26 on Friday thanks in part to Shi, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. That makes it ten consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of American's points.

Another player making a difference was Leann Wang, who posted eight points and 15 rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in boards.

American's victory bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Irvington, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. American will venture away from home to face off against Newark Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Irvington, they will square off against Kennedy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
