Basketball Recap: Leuzinger Takes a Loss

Leuzinger was the 46-35 winner over Santa Monica when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Leuzinger Olympians were just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 53-52 to the Santa Monica Vikings. The Olympians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Leuzinger saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tatyana Aubry went 12 for 23 en route to 27 points and six boards. Aubry's evening made it eight games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sovereign Woods, who went 7 of 10 on her way to 17 points.

Leuzinger's loss dropped their record down to 15-14. As for Santa Monica, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-14 record this season.

As of now, neither Leuzinger nor Santa Monica have any future games scheduled.
