Basketball Recap: Hanover Nighthawks vs. Biglerville Canners
The Hanover Nighthawks lost against the Biglerville Canners back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Hanover was beaten by the Canners 55-27. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hanover in their matchups with the Canners: they've now lost four in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Biglerville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Claire Roberts, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Roberts hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylie Brewer, who scored eight points along with five steals.
Hanover's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Biglerville, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.
Hanover will square off against the Squires at TBD on Friday. Delone Catholic presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Nighthawks in Pennsylvania (the Squires are ranked 24th, while the Nighthawks are ranked 562nd). As for Biglerville, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on February 1st.
