Soccer Game Preview: Duarte vs. Azusa

Duarte hasn't had much luck against Azusa recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Duarte Falcons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Azusa Aztecs at 5:00 p.m. Duarte's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Friday, Duarte didn't have quite enough to beat Sierra Vista and fell 3-2.

Meanwhile, Azusa put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. Their defense stepped up to hand Baldwin Park a 1-0 shutout. Given the Aztecs' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 336th, while the Braves are ranked 1038th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Azusa has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-0-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those seven contests. As for Duarte, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4-2.
