Basketball Recap: Polytechnic Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Polytechnic entered their tilt with Chadwick on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They enjoyed a cozy 48-32 win over the Dolphins. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Dolphins, too.

Polytechnic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jessica Yip led the charge by shooting 75% from the field en route to 15 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Yip now owns an excellent 46.9% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Lori Ohanian, who posted 13 points along with eight boards and three steals.

Polytechnic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Polytechnic's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Chadwick, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coincidentally, Polytechnic and Chadwick will both be playing Westridge the next time they take the court. The Panthers will head out to face the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Dolphins will host them at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
