Mountain Empire comes up short despite Aisha Acevedo's dominant performance

Recap: Mountain Empire Redhawks vs. West Shores Wildcats

The Mountain Empire Redhawks were the 46-20 winner over the West Shores Wildcats when they last played one another back in January of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. Mountain Empire fell just short of West Shores by a score of 24-21. Mountain Empire just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Mountain Empire lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Aisha Acevedo. Despite the final result, she scored nine points.

West Shores' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anastacia Garth, who scored ten points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Garth has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Maria Contreras, who scored six points.

Mountain Empire's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for West Shores, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Mountain Empire will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Calipatria at 11:00 a.m. on December 9th. As for West Shores, they will be playing in front of their home fans against San Jacinto Valley Academy at 12:05 p.m. on Saturday.
