Softball Recap: Poteau Falls Short Against Ranked Oktaha

Poteau faced Oktaha in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Pirates took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Poteau's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5. As for Oktaha, they pushed their record up to 30-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Poteau didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Elk City on the 8th. As for Oktaha, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-0 victory against Latta on the 9th.
