Basketball Game Preview: Hughson Huskies vs. Sonora Wildcats

The Hughson Huskies will take on the Sonora Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hughson is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 62-26, which was the final score in Hughson's tilt against Escalon on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1070th, while the Cougars are ranked 476th).

Meanwhile, Sonora sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 45-42 win over Hilmar on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Hughson better keep an eye on Taylor Faught. She was instrumental in Sonora's win, putting up 19 points. Another player making a difference was Ella Kaiser, who posted ten points.

Sonora's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-12. As for Hughson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-19.

Hughson strolled past Sonora in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 41-26. Will Hughson repeat their success, or does Sonora have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
