Soccer Game Preview: Whitewater vs. Mary Persons

The Whitewater Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Mary Persons Bulldogs at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Mary Persons will be up against a hot Whitewater squad: the team just extended their winning streak to six. Whitewater never let Troup County get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Thursday. The Wildcats' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last five games.

Maddox Strickland and Ryan Daniel scored all three of Whitewater's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Meanwhile, Mary Persons' game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They blew past Trinity Christian 3-0. Give the Bulldogs' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Whitewater pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four contests. As for Mary Persons, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
