Baseball Game Preview: Northeast Raiders vs. Jefferson County Warriors

The Northeast Raiders will face off against the Jefferson County Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Northeast has given up an average of 10.4 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Northeast's offense. They lost 12-0 to East Laurens on Tuesday. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Northeast saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Durham, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. Durham has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Meanwhile, Jefferson County earned a 7-4 win over Southwest on Tuesday.

Trey Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on two hits and racked up 18 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jayden Duncan, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Tungate, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Jefferson County, their victory bumped their record up to 7-13.
