Bear Creek extended their losing streak to 12 on Saturday, dropping them down to 3-15. They came up short against the Valor Christian Eagles, falling 14-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-3 on September 9th.
Chianna Morris led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Jasmynn Jimenez, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
As for Valor Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games.
On Valor Christian's side, Elizabeth Canales was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Canales has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Valor Christian got a massive performance out of Kendall Ferguson, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and one double while going 5-for-5. That's the most RBI Ferguson has posted since back in October of 2024. Karis Flannery was another key player, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3.
Coming up, Bear Creek will square off against Columbine at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rebels have averaged an impressive 10.3 runs per game this season. As for Valor Christian, they will face off against Chatfield at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
