Basketball Preview: Uniontown Red Raiders vs. Carmichaels Mighty Mikes
The Uniontown Red Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Carmichaels Mighty Mikes at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Carmichaels took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Uniontown, who comes in off a win.
Uniontown's and the Rams' contest on Thursday was close at halftime, but the Red Raiders turned on the heat in the second half with 35 points. Uniontown put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 61-41 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Uniontown.
Uniontown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but A?kira Dade led the charge by scoring 26 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Dade has scored at least a third of Uniontown's points. Geelece Ingram was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Meanwhile, Carmichaels came up short against the Prexies on Thursday and fell 32-23.
Uniontown's win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-13. As for Carmichaels, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.
