Football Game Preview: Lakeside Knights vs. Sylvan-Lucas Mustangs

Lakeside is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will venture away from home to face off against the Sylvan-Lucas Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Lakeside has given up an average of 29.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lakeside's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Clifton-Clyde on Friday. They took a blow against the Eagles, falling 46-0. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Sylvan-Lucas put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Rock Hills 58-6. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 94th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lakeside's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Sylvan-Lucas, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Lakeside was taken down by Sylvan-Lucas 50-8 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Knights were down 20-0.
