Soccer Recap: Sage Creek's Losing Streak Snapped at Seven Games

Sage Creek came into Friday's match having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Their defense stepped up to hand the Oceanside Pirates a 1-0 shutout on Friday. The Bobcats' winning goal came courtesy of Riley Gergurich.

Sage Creek's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-10. As for Oceanside, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9-2.

Sage Creek will face off against Carlsbad at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Carlsbad's last six games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Oceanside has already played their next contest (against Mission Vista), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
