Football Recap: Mankato West Takes a Loss

If Mankato West was feeling good fresh off their 35-7 takedown of Owatonna last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Scarlets lost 28-7 to the Mankato East Cougars on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Scarlets came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Cougars are ranked 51st).

Mankato West now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Mankato East, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
