Baseball Recap: Rolling Meadows Takes a Loss

If Rolling Meadows was feeling good fresh off their 10-1 takedown of Wheeling on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 9-8 on Wednesday. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 10-1.

Rolling Meadows got a good showing from Dylan Piccioni, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Piccioni has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Josh Rappa was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Quinn Hextall, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Rolling Meadows' defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Wheeling, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-9.
