Volleyball Recap: Sprayberry Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Wheeler

Sprayberry faced Wheeler in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The Yellow Jackets' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Sprayberry sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 18-25, 15-3.

Sprayberry's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Wheeler, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Coincidentally, Sprayberry and Wheeler will both be playing Denmark the next time they take the court. The Yellow Jackets will head out to face Denmark at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Wildcats will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
