Soccer Game Preview: Cabrillo vs. Woodrow Wilson

Cabrillo hasn't had much luck against Woodrow Wilson recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cabrillo Jaguars will welcome the Woodrow Wilson Bruins at 5:30 p.m. Cabrillo will be strutting in after a win while Woodrow Wilson will be coming in after a loss.

Cabrillo's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed two weeks ago. Everything went their way against Rancho Alamitos as Cabrillo made off with a 6-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Jaguars.

Meanwhile, Woodrow Wilson's game on Friday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Mission Viejo by a score of 3-2. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Diablos are ranked 25th).

Woodrow Wilson's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2-2. As for Cabrillo, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3-3 record this season.

Cabrillo suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Woodrow Wilson when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Cabrillo avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
