Basketball Recap: Bassett Comes Up Short

Bassett lost against Workman back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bassett Olympians had to suffer through a 47-8 loss at the hands of the Workman Lobos. The Olympians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Workman to victory were Hilary Lomeli and Iris Campos. Lomeli went 8 for 18 on her way to 16 points in addition to six assists and six boards, while Campos dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Lomeli's afternoon made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Pelayo, who posted five points in addition to seven boards and six steals.

Bassett's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Workman, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bassett will welcome La Puente at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Bassett is facing La Puente at the right time seeing as La Puente is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Workman, they will take on Pomona at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
