Basketball Recap: West Takes a Loss

West lost against San Ramon Valley back in December of 2016 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The West Wolfpack took a blow against the San Ramon Valley Wolves, falling 82-28. While losing is never fun, the Wolfpack can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 779th, while the Wolves are ranked 15th).

West's loss came despite strong showings from Kaliyah Byrd and Athena Pastran. Byrd made all 5 shots she took racking up 11 points, while Pastran made all 5 shots she took for 11 points.

This is the second loss in a row for West and nudges their season record down to 2-7. As for San Ramon Valley, their win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-29 defeat against Patterson on the 19th. As for San Ramon Valley, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Westview at 4:30 p.m. on December 27th. One thing working in San Ramon Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
