Football Recap: Josh Goodwin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Prairie View over Santa Fe Trail

After flying high against Osawatomie last Friday, Prairie View came back down to earth. The Buffalos lost to the Santa Fe Trail Chargers at home by a 35-20 margin on Friday. The Buffalos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Prairie View's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josh Goodwin, who rushed for 58 yards and two TDs.

Prairie View's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Santa Fe Trail, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Prairie View didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 42-35 win against Wellsville on the 19th. As for Santa Fe Trail, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 49-6 victory against Iola on the 19th.
