Basketball Recap: Venice Comes Up Short

Venice lost against Westchester two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Venice Gondoliers took a blow against the Westchester Comets, falling 61-21. While losing is never fun, the Gondoliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 670th, while the Comets are ranked 74th).

Venice has also been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 18 matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-21 record this season. As for Westchester, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-5.

Coming up, Venice will welcome Palisades at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Westchester, they and University will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday without much rest, having both just played.
