Baseball Recap: Westminster Schools of Augusta Has No Trouble Against St. Andrew's

It was a proper cat-fight when Westminster Schools of Augusta duked it out with St. Andrew on Thursday. The Westminster Schools of Augusta Wildcats were the clear victor by a 12-2 margin over the St. Andrew's Lions. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won six in a row.

Thomas Freeman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Freeman was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other pitching news, Westminster Schools of Augusta got a great performance from Tyler Hornsby as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave Hornsby a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

Back at the plate, Mikey Kelsey was incredible, scoring four runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Levi Murphey was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Westminster Schools of Augusta always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win got Westminster Schools of Augusta back to even at 3-3. As for St. Andrew's, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
